| Reviews: | Coffee Shop God is a moving account of the author’s struggle to make sense of life, faith, and humanity after the tragic loss of her brother. This exceptionally well-written memoir should be read by all who believe, or want to believe, in the capacity of the human heart to heal and to forgive. Therese Bartholomew’s poignant memoir about the slaying of her brother Steve is sometimes heartbreaking, sometimes humorous and always brutally honest. Bartholomew manages to wrest a story of hope and triumph out of this senseless tragedy. The evocative rendering of her own grief makes for a moving and gripping read, but it is her irrepressible spirit of love, laughter and compassion that you will remember long after you've finished the book. |
