Alternative Spring Break
“I don't know what your destiny will be, but one thing I do know: the only ones among you who will be really happy are those who have sought and found how to serve.” Albert Schweitzer
Alternative Spring Break (ASB) is a low-cost service trip that provides students with an opportunity to participate in meaningful service activities, learn more about community issues, and have fun. This year, students worked with a variety of agencies designed to encourage civic responsibility in Wilmington, NC. Agencies included an afterschool program for young girls, a food pantry, and a homeless shelter for men, women, and families. In the past, students have traveled to Charleston, Atlanta, and Sumter, South Carolina. Details for ASB 2010 are coming soon!
Local ASB- Don’t worry if you can't leave town over Spring Break--we do have some alternatives for you! There will be local ASB service dates planned in the Charlotte area for Spring 2010.
Can't wait for ASB 2010? Well, we invite you to join Service Club! Check back for our next meeting date and time. The club does service events through Service in Action. You can click here for a full list of events.
