- The link below is an ePortfolio showcase video from LaGuardia Community College. We are using their model to approach our ePortfolio initiative at CPCC. The video is about four minutes long and a great introduction to what ePortfolio can do to help our students.
- David Kim showed new website for the Tech Plan
https://services.cpcc.edu/techplan/ . ITS is trying to be as transparent as possible- Everyone can see all major projects ITS is working on through Online Project Request (https://services.cpcc.edu/projectrequest/). Anyone is able to submit a request which would be routed for approval by the supervisor and sponsored by a Cabinet member. Prioritization of projects are decided by the supervisor and Cabinet. More importantly, you can see the progress of every project, and can subscribe to any projects to receive automatic updates (once you are logged in) via email.
- Quick statistics from April 2010 – August 2010:
36 new projects were submitted and most have already been approved.
58 projects were completed. - We currently have 42 active projects (in-progress) from a total of 82 approved projects.
Online Project Request will be upgraded (similar look and feel to the Online Technology Plan) by tomorrow.
- Concerns on Moodle/BlackBoard:
- Are we up-to-date on our LMS versions?
- Do have all the functions available to us?
- Why are there many restrictions?
- Ken Ingle showed the new CPCC online catalog:
https://www.cpcc.edu/attending/catalog - List of items to talk about in future
- Involving faculty in ITS decisions, have the right people involved in the decisions and focus groups.
- Suggested framework of Meetings:
- 20 minutes for Executive Presentations
- 10 minutes for Kudos/concerns
- 10 minutes for Vision/discussion of future
- 10 minutes for New technologies we “discovered”
- 10 minutes for Open Forum
