Kenneth C. Paulus brings 20+ years of experience within technology commercialization and private equity sectors with a focus on early-stage high-growth companies within the healthcare, IT and advanced materials sectors.  Throughout his career, he has worked in multiple roles within entrepreneurial development, including as startup founder, investor, educator and state policy advisor. Ken has advised leading research institutions as well as economic development agencies on the methods and programs that increase opportunities for technology commercialization and startup incubation.

In addition to his startup activities, Ken has produced over 30 technology conferences and was the host of The Digital Hour radio show on NewsTalk 760-AM in Detroit. Prior to relocating to North Carolina ten years ago, he served under Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm as the Director of Entrepreneurial Affairs for the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC).  As a resident of Charlotte, Ken served as the Director of the Five Ventures business plan competition (now Charlotte Venture Challenge) and was the founder of the Inception Micro Angel Fund of Charlotte (IMAF-Charlotte).

In his spare time, Ken enjoys playing competitive baseball and serves as a volunteer youth basketball, soccer and tee-ball coach with the YMCA.  He is a proud graduate of Michigan State University.
