Private Protection Service Courses

CPCC’s Merancas Campus is pleased to offer Private Protection Service courses. All courses are FREE and funded in whole or in part by a grant from the Private Protective Services Board. Classes meet 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Call 704.330.4223 to register.

Cell Phone Forensics for Private Investigators
The purpose of this course is to introduce the student to the dominant cell phone technologies currently used throughout the U.S. and overseas. Upon acquiring a basic understanding of the various systems and their functions, the student will then be introduced to the various data fields contained on handsets and SIM cards. Students will gain a general knowledge of how the various data fields can be recovered and the importance of these fields to the examiner will be covered.

Executive Protection for Private Investigators
Enroll and receive a basic overview of the fundamentals, imperatives and operations of a private investigator that can be employed in any field of operation. Class will focus on protective operations conducted by officers within their legal jurisdictions and rules of engagement.

Internet as an Investigative Tool
This class enhances the skill set of investigators relative to using Internet-based tools.  With the use of Google, Internet research services, website tools and capturing videos, students will locate people, social media sites and trace emails.

Technical Surveillance for Private Investigators
This class focuses on problem-solving, operational planning and safety. Participants will actively engage in equipment selection and utilization.
