Officer Survival:  Fit to Fight (seats available)

Course Number:  PSX 8020-20

Date and Time:  July 9-12, 2012, 0800-1700

Location:  CPCC Merancas Campus (former known as North Campus), Room CJ 120

Description:  This course presents cutting edge training designed as the ultimate multiplier allowing students immersed in Krav Maga and Fit to Fight Principles and Tactics.  This course is designed to teach law enforcement officers to perform the force tactical curriculum established by the Fit to Fight Force Tactical Group.  Students will be performing handgun takeaways and retention under stressful situations.

Note:  Students are required to bring a duty belt with equipment.

Traffic Crash Investigations Using Laser Technology and Crash Zone  (18 seats available)

Course Number:  PSX 8000-02

Date and Time:  May 30 - June 2, 2012, 0800-1700

Location:  Cornelius Police Department

Description:  This course is designed to provide training that will enable class participants to proficiently measure crash-crime scenes using technologically advanced equipment.  Students will be taught how to set up information into the instrument, how to use the instrument to measure, and download a completed map into Crash Zone.

Instructor:  Eric Holloman (Eric taught this course for the N.C. Justice Academy), certified Instructor for LTI and Cad Zone.


Standardized Field Sobriety Training Refresher

Course Number:  PSX 7892-03

Date and Time:  July 27, 2012, 1300-2200

Location:  CMPD Training Academy

Description:  This course is designed to update the standardized field sobriety tests and to certifiy officers in DWI Detection and Enforcement.  This course satisfies the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) mandatory 2 years SFST Refresher.  Students must be sworn Law Enforcement Officers and must have successfully completed the NHTSA SFST Basic School.

INTERMEDIATE ANTITERRORISM TRAINING

Course Number:  PSX 8065-01

Date and Time:  June 11-14, 2012, 0800 - 1700

Location:  CPCC Merancas Campus, Huntersville

Description:  This training is for law enforcement officers and firefighters interested in learning more about terrorism. When a general global threat of possible terrorist activity exists and warrants a routine security posture, a terrorist attack is always possible.  This course will expose law enforcement officers and firefighters to training focused on domestic and foreign terrorism including trends, history of terrorism, and the origins of domestic and international terrorists.  Students will also have an opportunity to learn about Cyber terrorism - Al-Qaeda, Homeland/National Security, Right & Left Wing Extremists, Radicalism, and Lone Wolf.
