Summer 2009 Schedule
Nurse Aide Traditional
- NUX 7501 Nurse Aide Traditional Course is a 192 contact hour class [actual seat time as opposed to credit hours]
- Nurse Aide DOES NOT require a HS completion or GED - HOWEVER, all individuals regardless of academic backgroud are required to take CPCC screening test 434 and score at or above the 10th grade level in both reading and math.
- Candidates for the Nurse Aide Program must have a Social Security Card, Current Drivers License, Current Medical Physical, Completed Immunizations [CDC guidelines for Adults], Negative DOT Urine Drug Screening, Negative Criminal Background check and FBI fingerprint check.
- Class includes 3 components: 92 hours classroom/lab, 40 hours online, and 60 hours clinical.
- Nurse Aide Day: classes meet Monday through Friday 7:30 - 3 PM and last for 9 weeks - classes are offered at the Central Campus in Kratt 113 and the Levine Campus- Rooms 1223 and 1202. The clinical experience is at Southminster nursing home [ if the class is taken on the Central Campus] or Huntersville Oaks [ if the class is taken on the Levine Campus].
- Nurse Aide Evening/Weekend: classes meet 2 evenings a week from 5:30 PM - 10 PM + 2 Saturdays per month from 7:30 AM - 4 PM and last for 15 weeks. - Class is offered at the Central Campus in Kratt 113 and the Levine Campus in Rooms 1223 and 1202 [Clinical experience is at Carolina Medical Center]
Nurse Aide for College Students
Every Summer Term an enhanced Nurse Aide course is offered for individuals who have attended any accredited college or university and have 30+ hours of general education course work credit. Students complete an online application to CPCC and e-mail a copy of the student transcript to Mary Smith, Program Coordinator Healthcare Continuing Education [mary.smith@cpcc.edu]

- Class includes 3 components: 72 hours classroom/lab, 60 hours online, and 60 hours clinical
NUX 7502 Meets 7-30 AM-3 PM Monday through Thursday for 6 weeks [May 18 - July 2] class meets on the Central Campus in Kratt 113, Clinical experience is at Carolinas Medical Center.
