Police Investigative Technician

Position responsible for answering telephone inquiries; interviewing victims/witnesses; completing appropriate reports/supplements; typing reports; entering data; and conducting background research on cases for the Crime Reporting Unit of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department. Requires high school graduation/GED; prefer candidates with two year degree in Criminal Justice, Behavioral Science or Communications. Candidates must have the ability to deal tactfully, with courtesy and effectively with citizens, co-workers, and other agency personnel; must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, must have demonstrated a good attitude and work ethic, be a creative and innovative thinker, must be able to work with specialized computer systems and must have demonstrated initiative and problem solving skills; previous experience working in a call center. This position is second shift 3pm – 11pm.
