The Charlotte Douglas Airport is currently recruiting for the position of police officer.

Works at Charlotte Douglas International Airport. Responds to security checkpoint alarms, emergencies and requests for assistance; patrols, by foot and vehicle, to maintain a safe and pleasant atmosphere for travelers, visitors, tenants and employees; directs traffic to prevent congestion; prepares reports and records; analyzes situations and acts without direct supervision, using independent judgment and discretion in accordance with departmental rules, regulations, laws and ordinances to resolve issues. Uses and cares for firearms properly. Requirements include: high school graduation/GED; NC Certified Law Enforcement Officer or NC BLET graduate; ability to deal with the public tactfully and represent airport in a positive manner; communicate clearly and effectively in person, over two-way radio and in writing; EMT certification or the ability to obtain and maintain within one year after hire; valid driver’s license which meets requirements for a City driving permit. Some college level work in police science or related field preferred. One year experience preferred. Shift is subject to change. Subject to emergency call back. Certain convictions within 10-year period will disqualify individuals from unescorted access privileges and therefore exclude from employment. Final candidates subject to Polygraph, physical and psychological examinations including drug test.  Hiring Rate: Minimum $36,000 Yearly.
