Police Officer

Summary of Duties:

Performs responsible police work in the protection of life and property through the enforcement of laws and ordinances. Work involves patrolling assigned areas, accident and crime scene investigations and special assignments for the purpose of prevention of crime. Hours of Work 12-hour rotating shifts 

Job Requirements:

Minimum Education and Qualifications: High School graduation or GED required; college level work in criminal justice field preferred; law enforcement experience preferred, must be BLET certified or currently enrolled in the class. Applicants must be at least 20 years old. Additional Requirements: Valid NC driver’s license with safe driving record or ability to obtain prior to hire. Must be able to pass a physical abilities test and written test.

Salary Information: $12.91 - $14.95 per hour
