Beyond CPCC

Students wishing to continue with their education beyond CPCC have a variety of educational options.  In the Charlotte, NC area, several universities offer Bachelors and Masters degree in Criminal Justice and related fields.  Students who have earned a AAS Degree in Criminal Justice from Central Piedmont Community College can often be admitted to four year programs as Junior and/or receive credit for courses taken at CPCC.
 

  • Pfeiffer University.  Pfeiffer University offers a major in criminal justice, as well as a graduate programs designed for police managers and leaders.
  • Queens University.  Queens University offers both day and evening programs for a Bachelor of Arts degree.
  • Garden-Webb University.  Gardener Webb's Department of Social Sciences accepts candidates for the Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Political Science, Social Sciences and Sociology, with a minor in Criminal Justice.
  • The University of North Carolina at Charlotte (UNCC).  UNCC offers both a Bachelors Degree and a Masters Degree in Criminal Justice.
  • Appalachian State University.  Located in Boone, NC, ASU offers Undergraduate Programs in Political Science and Criminal Justice and Graduate Programs in Political Science, Public Administration, and Social Sciences.
  • Western Carolina University.  Western Carolina University offers a traditional Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice as well, an on line program designed for law enforcement officers who have completed a two-year A.A. or A.S. degree.  The WCU's CJ On line Program allows students to complete a Bachelors program through part-time study. Internet delivery allows for access anywhere, anytime by the busy student.
  • North Carolina State University. NC State now offers Leadership in the Public Sector (LPS), a distance education degree completion program designed to focus on leadership in non-market environments (such as local, state, and federal government organizations, and non-profit institutions). The program is designed for potential leaders in public service and combine elements of public administration, political science, history and philosophy. It is available completely on line.
