NCCCFA Membership Drive

Posted by Adam Brooks |

Now holding a NCCCFA membership drive at CPCC. The organization would like to see a 50% increase in membership from our school! The cost is only $30.00 a year for fulltime faculty and $18.00 for part-time faculty. And for only $25.00, professional staff and administrators can join as faculty supporters.

Hello fellow workers, my name is Rick Coulter, and I am a sociology instructor and the new North Carolina Community College Faculty Association (NCCCFA) representative for Central Piedmont. If the past tells us anything about the present, I know that many of you are already thinking about hitting the big delete or X button above, but hear me out. This organization is the only collective organization for community college instructors in the State. Since its inception, it has helped secure millions of dollars for new equipment, sponsored professional development conferences, and distributed thousands of dollars in student scholarships and faculty grants. NCCCFA has also been the driving force behind increases in faculty salaries over the last 10 years with its continuing goal of reaching the national average.  And, most importantly, as economic conditions in the state and country worsen, new challenges await our organization, and larger membership numbers will always mean more “clout” when our representatives talk to state legislators. If you have ignored the opportunity to be a member in the past, your motivation to join may be different today.

Now until April 15th I will be holding a NCCCFA membership drive here at CPCC. The organization would like to see a 50% increase in membership from our school, but I have set a personal goal of over 100%, considering we currently only have 12 members college-wide! The cost is only $30.00 a year for fulltime faculty and $18.00 for part-time faculty. And for only $25.00, professional staff and administrators can join as faculty supporters. I have attached the organization’s mission and goals, a list of reasons why you should join, and a membership form that you can fill out and send in or I can stop by and pick up. If you would like to join via the web, you can at http://ncccfa.org/member/index.htm

Thank you, and remember the more of us that join, the stronger the organization becomes.
