Faculty and Staff Councils

All employees are encouraged to get involved and participate in one of the many faculty and staff councils or committees.

Classified Staff Council - (Login required) Classified Staff is a designated group of employees who provide support services for the faculty, administration and students. Classified Staff consists of secretaries, grounds keepers, maintenance crews, and office personnel. CS work in Campus Printing, the Mail Room, Shipping and Receiving, Human Resources, Payroll, Marketing and in virtually every office and department in the college. The council meets once per month to plan events and promote the general welfare of all classified staff.

College Senate
- The purpose of the College Senate is to provide Faculty and Professional Staff an avenue to discuss, promote, voice concern, and bring forth positive recommendations to make Central Piedmont Community College a better place for all concerned. The College Senate sub-commitees.

The College Cabinet will decide on appointments of new members to serve on various Central Piedmont Community College committees. If you have a particular interest in the work of one or more of the following committees, and would like your vice-president to consider you for an appointment, please email Susan Oleson.

  • College Technology Team - Provides guidance for the development and use of technology for instruction, public service, and administrative activities at Central Piedmont Community College.

  • Diversity Committee - Ensures that the College provides a supportive caring environment for students, employees, and guests; promotes respect for individuals and groups; and promotes inclusion in Central Piedmont Community College programs and services.

  • Employee Recognition Committee - Manages and supervises the general functions of the College's Recognition Program recommending the recipients of the Recognition Awards, the annual Employee of the Year Awards, the Innovation of the Year Award, and the Entrepreneur of the Year Award.

  • General Education Committee - Determines an appropriate methodology to assess the College's general education goals, oversees the yearly assessments, offers recommendations for improvements, and makes recommendations on broader general education issues.

  • Graduation Committee - Plans and implements the Adult High School and College graduation ceremonies.

  • Hagemeyer Award Committee - Selects a former student who has benefited from experiences at the College and who in turn benefited the community.

  • Institutional Effectiveness Committee - Serves as an integral part of Central Piedmont Community College's quest for continuous improvement of programs, services, and administrative functions.

  • Learning College Steering Committee - Coordinates the College's transition to a more learning-centered environment with the focus on learning outcome assessment, employee recruitment and retention, and professional development.

  • Professional Development Advisory Committee - Will manage and supervise the Faculty/Staff Upgrade Allotment and Return-to-School funds for Central Piedmont Community College to offer financial support to all employees interested in upgrading professional skills by attending workshops, conferences, or college classes.

  • Innovation Grant Committee - Collects and reviews all applications for Innovation Grants and makes recommendations for awards to the applicant’s respective administrative council. The Committee monitors the progress of projects that are approved by the College Cabinet and collects assessment data at their completion.
