Career Ladder  
Description The Pathways to Employment Hospital Unit Coordinator program is a fourteen week course of study which incorporates three integrated components-human resources (employability and life skills), basic skills (reading, math, and communications skills), and the job skills necessary for working as a hospital unit coordinator.
Employment Opportunities Businesses partnering  in the Pathways to Employment program have agreed to give consideration for employment to program participants. In addition, in the Charlotte/Mecklenburg area there is a strong job market for job titles related to hospital unit coordinator
Program Content This program integrates instruction in the areas of: basic skills for hospital unit coordinating (reading, communications, & math), employability and life skills, medical keyboarding, medical terminology, unit coordinating, and windows.
  • GED 6001-21 Career Skills
  • HRD 6001 Job Readiness
  • HEA 7625-01 Medical Keyboarding
  • HEA 7320-01 Hospital Unit Coordinator
Requirements / Prerequisits A High School diploma is recommended but not required. CPCC placement tests are required in Reading and English; scores are suggested to be at 10.0 grade level.
