Overload Approval Guidelines and Procedures
Procedure
Students seeking overload approval up to and including 20 hours must secure approval from the Instructional Division Director in charge of the overload course. Students seeking overload approval above 20 hours must secure approval from the Instructional Dean. Contact your department for more information.
Guidelines
- Student has a CPCC history file and/or a college transcript.
- The student has successfully completed a minimum of 23 hours and earned a 3.0 G.P.A. or better in the last semester attended.
- The student does not have a history of withdrawals or I’s.
- The student must be registered for a full load prior to requesting an overload.
- The overload level for all programs and degrees and for undecided students is 19 semester hours.
- Whichever course(s) puts the student over the maximum course load is considered the overload course.
