Mid-Year High School Grads

Mid-year graduates have a few extra steps to take in order to begin classes at CPCC immediately following high school graduation.  Listed below are the steps to take as a mid-year grad.

The first step is meeting with your Career Development Coordinator (CDC) or Guidance Counselor to see if you are eligible for the Career and College Promise. For more information on this program, please visit http://www.cpcc.edu/hsprograms/career-college-promise

Students who are not eligible for the Career and College Promise program have the option of enrolling in the second 8 week session beginning in March.  Registration begins in November. Students wishing to enroll in this short session should complete the following steps:

Step 1: Complete Admissions Application To CPCC Within an hour, you should receive an email with your Student ID Number

Step 2: Create Your CPCC Login (Username And Password)

Step 3: Sign Up For Orientation and attend an Orientation session.  You will also sign up for advising at the end of your Orientation session.  

Step 4: Set Up Your CPCC Student Email

Step 5: Complete FAFSA to begin the Financial Aid process, if needed. (School Code: 002915)  *This step takes several weeks to process so please proceed to the next step while waiting on your Financial Aid award response.

Step 6: Submit high school transcript with expected graduation date (must be in a sealed envelope). For minor students (under 18), the graduation date must be prior to the date of the term that the student wishes to enroll.

Once the student has graduated, you must provide an official high school transcript (sealed) with the actual graduation date. If you plan to register before the official transcript is available, you must also provide a letter at the point of registration.  The letter must confirm that the graduations requirements will be completed prior to the first day of the short session (March).  Students must register in person and may submit this letter to the Registrar at any campus.  This letter must be on school letterhead, signed by the guidance counselor or principal, and include the actual date on which graduation requirements will be completed.

Step 7: Study For ACCUPLACER Placement Tests using the ACCUPLACER Practice Tests And Review Videos. Then take ACCUPLACER Placement Tests The ACCUPLACER tests are now mandatory, but some students may qualify for a test waiver.

Step 8: Get advised.

Step 9: Register and pay for classes, or confirm that you have a Financial Aid award by the Payment Due Date
