Merancas Scholarship Program

The Merancas Scholarship is available to 2018 high school seniors enrolled in a career-focused, technical field that will prepare them for employment at graduation.

Available to any student who is a Mecklenburg County resident, the Merancas Scholarship is a two-year scholarship award that will cover the complete cost of attendance to CPCC—tuition and fees—for the fall and spring terms. Merancas Scholars must maintain a 3.0 Grade Point Average to retain the scholarship.

Opportunity Scholars Program

The Opportunity Scholarship is available to 2018 high school seniors. The scholarship will provide support to obtain a career-focused, two-year degree that will provide the education and skills needed to embark on meaningful, well-paying careers.

Established in 2017, the Opportunity Scholars Program will extend educational and career-training opportunities to low-income, minority students at five Mecklenburg County high schools: Garinger, Harding, Vance, West Charlotte and West Mecklenburg.

Presidential Scholars Program

The Presidential Scholars Program is both a scholarship program and a unique cohort experience available to 2018 high school seniors.

As a recipient of the Presidential Scholars Program, you will benefit from leadership development, service-learning and peer mentoring opportunities as a part of an intentional community. Over the course of your educational journey, you will participate in a customized seminar series, volunteer projects and help to successfully orient new students into the Presidential Scholars Program.

Gratitude Endowment Scholarship

The purpose of the Gratitude Endowment Scholarship Fund is to provide scholarships for students (male or female) age 25 or older entering or re-entering college studies.

Gratitude Endowment Scholarship applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Attend CPCC, Queens University or UNC-Charlotte.
  • Be a “nontraditional” male or female student age 25 or older attending.
  • Be a legal resident of Mecklenburg County, North Carolina.
  • Must have a 3.0 minimum GPA.
