Associate Degree Nursing

The Associate Degree Nursing curriculum provides knowledge, skills, and strategies necessary to integrate safety and quality into nursing care, to practice in a dynamic environment, and to meet individual needs which impact health, quality of life, and achievement of potential.
Course work includes and builds upon the domains of healthcare, nursing practice, and the holistic individual.  Content emphasizes the nurse as a member of the interdisciplinary team providing safe, individualized care while employing evidence-based practice, quality improvement, and informatics.
Graduates of this program are eligible to apply to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN).   Employment opportunities are vast within the global health care system and may include positions within acute, chronic, extended, industrial and community health facilities.

Nursing - Regionally Increasing Baccalaureate Nurses (RIBN)

Overview

Centralina RIBN (CRIBN) is a four year nursing option that will dually admit and enroll students to both UNC Charlotte and one of these three Associate Degree Colleges:

  • Carolinas College of Health Sciences
  • Central Piedmont Community College (www.cpcc.edu)
  • Gaston College

The CRIBN option will provide a seamless associate to baccalaureate nursing education for top academic students. The first three years of study will be hosted on the Associate Degree College campus along with one course taken each semester through UNC Charlotte. Upon successful completion of the first three years, students will complete their final year of baccalaureate nursing courses online through UNCC.

RIBN makes a bachelor's degree in nursing both affordable and accessible. Admission to the RIBN nursing option is competitive, and students will be selected based upon specific academic requirements.
