In spring 2012, CPCC students who have successfully completed Expository Writing (ENG 111) are now eligible to choose from the following journalism classes. We encourage students to check the online course schedule for the latest class information and course prerequisite information.

JOU110 - Introduction to Journalism: Learn about reporting, news gathering and interviewing techniques. Write news, feature and sports articles and cover issues, speakers and events, and study the news industry, including Associated Press style, legal topics and professional ethics.  This class meets the requirements of a Writing Intensive course.

JOU216 - Writing for Mass Media: Learn reporting and writing techniques for print, radio, television and web media. Complete public relations and advertising projects and develop broadcast reporting packages using digital video cameras and editing software. Register soon. This class is not offered every semester.

CPCC is excited to announce that its English, Reading and Humanities Division has partnered with the Co-op Office to offer students taking journalism classes an expanded selection of journalism, public relations and broadcasting opportunities during the spring 2012 semester.
