CPCC is excited to host Charlotte’s inaugural Emerging Leaders program, being held April through November 2015 on the college’s Central Campus.

The Emerging Leaders program is an intensive executive-level training series designed to help business owners accelerate the growth of their companies, while providing them with the tools they need to catapult their organization to the next level and help it emerge as a force in their local community.

To participate, business owners must:

  • have an annual revenue of at least $400,000;
  • have been in business for at least three years;
  • be located in the inner-city; and
  • have at least one employee other than themselves.

In addition to the above requirements, participants must also agree to commit to 40 hours of in-class time, divided over 13, in-person sessions. Sessions are typically held every other week and incorporate the StreetWise Steps™ to Small Business Growth curriculum.

This rigorous curriculum focuses on five key areas: business and strategy assessment, financials, marketing and sales, resources (people, accessing capital, and government contracting), and strategic growth plan presentations. Graduates of the program have created nearly 2,000 new, full-time jobs; accessed more than $73 million in new financing; and more.

The Emerging Leaders program is FREE, thanks to funding from the U.S. Small Business Administration and local partners, and is open to 17 small business owners in the Charlotte metro area.

So don’t delay; space is limited! Applications are being accepted through March 20 at www.interise.org/sbaemergingleaders.
