CPCC’s Small Business Center to host “Think Global, Act Global” event during Small Business Week

WHAT: During Small Business Week, Central Piedmont Community College’s (CPCC) Small Business Center (SBC) will host “Think Global, Act Global” on May 13 to connect area entrepreneurs to industry professionals who can teach them how to expand their presence in the global marketplace.

During the event, attendees will have the opportunity to engage in several valuable knowledge sharing opportunities and attend a variety of presentations, panel discussions and break out sessions, including:

  • a keynote address by James F. Foley. He is the author of "The Global Entrepreneur" and director of the International Trade Center at Bradley University. He will share personal experiences, tips and techniques to reduce risks and take advantage of global opportunities.
  • a panel discussion titled, “Let’s Talk Exports.” This session, moderated by Greg Sizemore, will feature Wayne Cooper, president of Arcon Manufacturing and chair of N.C. District Export Council; Katie Hughes, entrepreneur, author and creator of Slip-On Dancers; Lisa Kehoe, Cary Manufacturing Corporation; and Greg Raty, vice president and owner of Slade, Inc and member, N.C. District Export Council.
  • breakout sessions featuring Sharyn Koenig, "Financing and Increasing Export Sales While Minimizing the Risks;" Greg Sizemore, "Best Practices in Global Business;" and Derek Chen, "N.C. International Trade Division: A Resource to Help You Grow."

Following the event, attendees will be able to take the information shared at the event and begin developing an international growth strategy for their organization.
