CPCC’s College and Career Readiness office: different name, same services
The CPCC Community Development/Basic Skills Department has changed its name to the College and Career Readiness Department. The department’s new name better reflects its top priority - student success.
Throughout the day, College and Career Readiness staff members take a student-focused approach to helping students achieve their academic and professional goals, working with participants one-on-one to polish their life skills before they enroll in college or seek employment.
To ensure a smooth transition into a post-secondary education institution or the workforce, the department’s team guides students through an assortment of college and career readiness courses such as foundational skills courses in language, arts and math; and/or pre-college courses that include GED preparation, adult high school courses and English as a Second Language classes.
These sessions are available at no cost and are led by CPCC’s highly qualified staff who combine technology and innovation with more traditional teaching techniques to create an unparalleled learning experience for students.
As the fall semester approaches, CPCC community members can expect to hear more about the College and Career Readiness Department, including the launch of its new Central Intake, Assessment and Registration Center, expected to be completed by the end of 2012.
