CPCC to provide customized training for MSC Industrial Supply Co.

Central Piedmont Community College (CPCC) will provide specialized training for MSC Industrial Supply, Co. (MSC), of Davidson, N.C., through funding from the state’s customized training program.

MSC (NYSE:MSM) is a leading value-added distributor of industrial supplies across North America, offering more than one million products from metalworking to maintenance, repair, operations and Class C items. The company is also recognized for its unmatched technical knowledge and metalworking expertise, inventory management capabilities, and streamlined buying and procurement processes.

MSC will receive more than $200,000 in training over a three-year period from CPCC. The training programs will include computer operations, project management, leadership, continuous improvement and safety for MSC associates. The N.C. Community College System’s “Customized Training Program” offers programs and training services to assist new and existing business and industry to remain productive and profitable and do so within North Carolina.

In 2013, MSC opened its co-headquarters in Davidson to meet the needs of customers and tap into the strong talent pool offered in North Carolina. The company continues to expand its Davidson operations, which include executive management, finance, information technology services, human resources, product management, strategy and marketing functions. The company projects a Mecklenburg County employee base of more than 400 by 2017.
