Fall semester classes at Central Piedmont Community College (CPCC) start Monday, Aug. 18. The college urges students to arrive on campus early for classes to beat the traffic congestion usually encountered the first few weeks of the semester.

Starting Monday, nearly 19,000 degree-seeking students, plus another 16,000 Basic Skills and Corporate and Continuing Education students will converge on CPCC’s six campuses. All of this activity leads to traffic tie-ups and packed parking lots, particularly during the morning and early evening hours.

CPCC encourages students to leave early for campus to help ensure they navigate any traffic, find a parking spot, and reach their classes on time. Students also can check online at http://www.cpcc.edu/campuses for information about each campus, and follow #cpccparking on Twitter for peak-period parking updates.

While Aug. 18 is the start of the fall semester, CPCC continues to add course sections to meet student demand and will offer additional classes in upcoming shorter eight- and 12-week sessions. For more information, please visit www.cpcc.edu/getstarted.
