ConventionSouth Magazine, a national multimedia resource for planning events held in the South, has named Central Piedmont Community College’s (CPCC) Harris Conference Center to its 2014 list of “The South’s Best Meeting Site Boardrooms.” The Harris Conference Center, located on CPCC’s Harris Campus, was one of only three North Carolina facilities to be named to the list, which will be published in the magazine’s April 2014 issue focusing on corporate meetings.

Thirty boardrooms, located at hotels and meeting facilities across the South, were selected to the list by the publication’s editorial team. Editors reviewed dozens of nominated boardrooms and judged each of them based on the following factors:

  • Aesthetics, décor, lighting and views
  • Presentation and conferencing technology, audio/visual and Internet capabilities
  • Food and beverage capabilities
  • Ergonomics and comfort
  • Privacy, soundproofing and security

The review committee found the Harris Conference Center to offer its meeting/event attendees top-of-the-line amenities. The center boasts more than 10,000 sq. feet of meeting space, 14 conference rooms, a dedicated professional staff, state-of-the-art amenities, video-conferencing capabilities, high-end furnishings, and a convenient, serene setting that offers the perfect setting for productive meetings. Since opening in 2005, the center has welcomed more than 100,000 meeting attendees, representing more than 300 organizations, through its doors.

“The Harris Conference Center is honored to be recognized for its innovation and amenities by such a prestigious publication,” said Crystal Thomann, director of sales and marketing for the Harris Conference Center. “We work hard to consistently create an environment that exceeds guest’s expectations.”
