WHAT: Central Piedmont Community College and Mecklenburg County have partnered to launch “Get Up and Grow!,” an accelerator program that gives businesses access to professional consultants, a peer network and 30.5 hours of training with subject matter experts. The program focuses on helping local business owners build upon their success and develop a plan to expand and grow their operation. Program applications are now being accepted and the selection will be limited to 24 business owners.

“Get Up and Grow!” kicks off Jan. 22, 2019, and is comprised of 10 learning modules that take place Tuesdays from 8:30 – 11:30 a.m., during February, March, April and May. This learning schedule gives participants the opportunity to earn a total of 30.5 classroom training hours. Class time will be spent instructing business owners on how to take control of their business and on how to develop a strategic growth plan. To help with execution, students will have access to professional consultants specializing in marketing, management, human resources, financial analysis and business law.

Business owners/CEOs from Mecklenburg County who have been in business at least two years, have at least two employees and are seeking to move beyond $125,000 to $400,0000 in annual sales, are invited to apply for this exclusive program. With support from Mecklenburg County, there will be no cost to those accepted into the program.

Applications are being accepted now through November 30, 2018. To apply online or to view the list of participating facilitators/consultants, visit cpcc.edu/sbc/courses/get_up_and_grow.

The “Get Up and Grow!” program is the second of two programs created as a result of the Central Piedmont and Mecklenburg County partnership. The first, “What’s Next Seminar Series,” was held during fall 2018 and was a six-part seminar series focused on helping existing business owners reach their next stage of growth.
