names CPCC to its “Top 10 Best Associate Degree Programs” list

last modified Jul 18, 2017 11:05 AM has ranked Central Piedmont Community College’s (CPCC) Accounting program #3 on its list of “The Top 10 Best Associate Degree Programs” in the United States. CPCC’s program was one of two programs in North Carolina to be named to the list.

To be considered for this recognition, college programs had to meet a number of standards and demonstrate exceptional quality in their curriculum, reputation and graduation rates, among other metrics.

“This recognition is a testament to the flexibility of our program and its quality faculty who are extremely passionate about what they do,” said Edith McElroy, dean of the CPCC Levine Campus.

CPCC offers degree, diploma and certificate programs in accounting that meet the needs and interests of the college’s students and Charlotte’s business and industry. Many of the program’s classes are offered online or in the evening to provide students with a flexible learning schedule, and boast smaller class sizes as well as lower tuition rates, making it highly accessible to individuals seeking CPA licensure.

The college is expanding its accounting program offerings in fall 2017 when it launches its new Professional Accounting Certificates (PAC) I and II. PAC l and PAC ll will help give students the 30 hours of Accounting courses within the 150 semester hours of education needed as part of the educational requirement for candidates to sit for the Uniform CPA Exam in North Carolina. Bachelor’s degree students (with at least 120 hours) can complete these two certificates.
