Central Piedmont Community College (CPCC) today hosted its 2014 Career Fair at the Grady Cole Center, located next to its Central Campus. The event gave more than 1,450 local residents the opportunity to connect with business leaders representing a variety of industries, including health care, hospitality and manufacturing.

Ninety-six businesses were in attendance at the event. Participating sponsor organizations included Job Finder, UniFirst Corporation and Bojangles’, Integrity Heating & Cooling, and RealPage. Throughout the day, attendees spoke with representatives from such companies as U.S. National Whitewater Center, Coca Cola, Wells Fargo, Verizon and more.

“CPCC is committed to serving as an important area employment resource,” said Christy Curts, career counselor and Career Fair coordinator, for CPCC. “Our annual Career Fair helps the college accomplish this objective, connecting residents to today’s hiring employers so they can re-enter the workforce and achieve their professional goals.”

This year’s event drew 1,470 candidates – comprised of both Charlotte residents and CPCC students/graduates. Attendees met with employers to discuss how their qualifications could move their organization forward.
