James Jermyn was searching for a career in the culinary arts. He was familiar with CPCC and knew the college had a strong reputation for having great teachers and being a great value.
According to James, the college didn’t disappoint. He credits much of his professional success to the culinary arts foundation he received at CPCC.
“The faculty had the uncanny ability to draw you in to the material, whether it was through their breadth of knowledge or larger-than-life personalities,” explains James. “The instructors brought years of experience into the classroom and were always happy to share their culinary techniques with us. In fact, it’s been more than 15 years since I was a CPCC student, but I still use the hands-on skills I learned in CPCC’s kitchens.”
Since graduating from CPCC’s culinary arts program, James has garnered many professional achievements, including serving as an executive chef in New York City and now at Ilios Noche in south Charlotte.
“I paid less for my education, yet I learned so much at CPCC,” said James. “Thanks to the college’s program, I have been able to excel in both the kitchen and my professional career.”
