Central Piedmont Community College, a military-friendly school, is dedicated to providing veterans with financial resources and educational support towards a higher education. CPCC offers a variety of scholarships to help veterans enter or re-enter the workforce. These scholarships are available in professional career and technical/trade career short-term training programs.

NC Health & Science Scholarship

Enrolled in their first year in a transfer degree program or a health science degree, diploma or certificate program and maintain a 2.0 GPA. The application must include a one page essay, no longer than one page, detailing their reasons for applying for the Scholarship and its importance to their educational and career goals. Note: The scholarship will pay out unused funds up to $2,000 per semester for childcare, public transportation and/or supplies


  1. High school graduate
  2. Live in Mecklenburg County
  3. Military veterans returning to school after a tour of duty
  4. Single parent
  5. Students must be 23 years of age and older



mikeroweWORKS Foundation Education Scholarship Program

The program is set up to award individual scholarships to applicants who want to pursue a career in the skilled trades. All successful applicants meeting the eligibility requirements may be awarded up to $2,500.

This program is for students who are enrolled in a skilled trade program at a two-year college, vocational school or approved training institute. Instructions for completing and submitting the application are provided when an option is selected.
