Get a head start on your Medical Assisting certificate by earning dual credit during your junior and senior years of high school.

Career and College Promise Program

To earn your career and college promise certificate in Health Science Fundamentals of Medical Assisting, you need to take the following courses in this order:

HSC 110     Orientation to Health Careers
HSC 140     Transcultural Healthcare
HEA 112      First Aid and CPR
MED 121     Medical Terminology I
MED 110     Orientation to Medical Assisting
MED 118     Medical Law and Ethics
MED 122     Medical Terminology II

To be eligible for enrollment, a high school student must meet the following criteria:

a.  Be a high school junior or senior;
b.  Have a weighted GPA of 3.0 on high school courses or have the recommendation of the high school principal or his/her designee; and
c.  Meet the testing requirements for the career pathway (if applicable).
