Medical Assisting Diploma Semester Schedule

Students interested in the Medical Assisting diploma are required to complete forty-seven credit hours in a three semester full-time student program. Applicants are admitted for both fall and spring semesters. Upon acceptance, students begin learning the knowledge and skills needed to become a certified Medical Assistant.

Associate in Applied Science degree in Medical Assisting

Students who have completed the Diploma in Medical Assisting are encouraged to continue their studies and complete an Associate in Applied Science degree in Medical Assisting.  After completion of the forty-seven credit hours required for the diploma, students pursing an associate degree will need to complete course work in the following areas: English, Behavior and/or Social Sciences, Humanities, Math, Medical Assisting and Health Information Technology.  A listing of course options is available on the Associate in Applied Science degree in Medical Assisting form.  Students should seek advisement from a faculty advisor or College counselor if they have questions.
