Embedding Films on Demand Videos in Your Online Course

 

Films on Demand is an online educational streaming video service that allows you to easily include quality streaming video content in an online course shell. Follow the instructions below to embed a video or include a link to a video from your online course shell.

Embedding a Video in Blackboard

1. Access Films on Demand and find the video or video segment that you would like to embed.

2. Click Embed this Video and then click Use Old Embed Code.

3. Copy the old embed code.

4. In your Blackboard course, click Build Content, then Item.

4. Click the HTML editor icon.

5. Paste the code. Double check that you copied the whole code by looking for the "iframe" tag at the beginning and the end of the code.

7. Give your item a title and click submit. You're done!

Linking to a Video in Blackboard

1. Access Films on Demand and find the video or video segment that you would like to link to.

2. Copy the Title or Segment URL. It is located near the bottom of each video page.

3. In BlackBoard click Build Content, then URL.

4. Name the link and paste the URL, add any explanatory text, and click submit.

5. You're done!

Embedding a Video in Moodle

1. Access Films on Demand and find the video or video segment that you would like to embed.

2. Click Embed this Video, then click Use Old Embed Code.

4. In your Moodle course use the Add a resource drop-down box and select Compose a webpage.

5. In the compose area, click the HTML editor icon.

6. Paste the code. Double check that you copied the whole code by looking for the "iframe" tag at the beginning and the end of the code.

7. Give your item a title and save. You're done!
