Spotlight on Learning

Profile: Wanda Acklin works in the Corporate and Continuing Education Department as a Customer Service Representative. Amy Mumpower nominated Wanda for the Spotlight on Learning Star stating that Wanda is a wonderful example of someone who is “learning centered.” On a daily basis Wanda helps students obtain the information they need to pursue their educational goals. She then walks them through the registration process, doing everything she can to make sure that they get off to a good start with the College.

Wanda does a great job in finding the resources necessary for the department to run smoothly. She knows that if she gives people the tools they need, the job will get done. She appreciates what her colleagues do to make the team function smoothly and is very supportive.

Amy adds that Wanda has incredible foresight. With her ability to plan ahead, she has been able to handle changes without creating a disruption in service. Wanda has played a crucial role with CCE’s transition to Datatel. She has been a liaison, a trainer, and cheerleader, helping everyone transition to the new system. Amazingly, she has done all this while juggling the daily responsibilities of her “real” job.
