2010 Spring Recognition Award Winners
Part-time Employee
This winner has been said to embody the mission and values of the College. Her cheerful demeanor and diligent manner and integrity while she strives for excellence were noted. 
As a graduate of the program where she works, she empathizes with the students, is unfailingly patient with their questions, and is always willing to help them in whatever way she can.
The program attributes its successful move to Levine IT Building on Central Campus over the winter break to her hard work and organization. In record time, they were able to welcome students to their beautiful new home without a moving box in sight.
As an Interior Design student said “It is not the big things in life that define a person, but the small acts of daily kindnesses. Becky Davis is always there for the students.”
Faculty Award Winner
The faculty member selected for this recognition has been called optimistic, enthusiastic
, innovative, engaging, inclusive, knowledgeable, and eager. She teaches at-risk students who thrive in her classes, which she conducts using a creative teaching style and classroom management expertise.
Many of her students don’t know what to expect in a college classroom, but she creates a learning environment that is both nurturing and demanding. While she may be reluctant to acknowledge her considerable skills, she is never reluctant to share what she knows to improve teaching and learning.
Her various accomplishments help so many students. One student said,” I can tell she really means it when she tells us she is here to help us learn, she has a remarkable style and passion – we give Mrs. Dunham 5 stars!” Please congratulate Linda Dunham!
Administrator Employee Award Winner
The many nominators for this person say that while he wears many hats, his accomplishments can be summed up in one work—innovation. This
administrator has been a driving force behind innumerable grant proposals that have brought significant fiscal resources to the College, allowing the development of new programs, and facilitating student learning and workforce development.
His educational training and professional background give him top-notch technical and project management skills. His firm grasp of processes and understanding of procedures at the College enable him to enact positive changes quickly and efficiently. He has a genuine concern for students and is committed to excellence.
He is that rare combination of a person who merges technical, organizational, and people skills into one person who still remains approachable, accessible, and energetic, and outgoing. The synergy of these abilities and gifts makes Chad Ray, the Dean of the STEM-s area, one of the most effective administrators and respected leaders at CPCC. Please congratulate Chad for a job well done!
Classified Staff Award Winner
This Classified Staff award winner is known for working tirelessly until
the job is done, and always with a smile. This person exudes positive energy and a true team spirit. The faculty in the division have turned to her for the several months they were without a division director, and she was a terrific source of knowledge.
In the spirit of the Learning College, she has learned about the five programs in the division and grows daily in her job, becoming increasing more valuable to the whole team. She shows initiative, will work with little or no guidance, and has demonstrated exceptional follow-through.
The Professional Careers Division at Cato Campus couldn’t say enough about how much they value and appreciate Demika Wallace.
