Learning & Workforce Development Unit: Full-time Hiring Process
|1.||Complete FT Position Number Request Form and forward to the dean as a Word document attachment for his/her approval. The Dean's office will forward to Delois Wilds to process.|

Complete Request-to-Hire paperwork which includes:
a. Request-to-Hire Form
Classified staff positions do not require a committee. However, the hiring manager must have at least one other person participate in the interview process with them. If the hiring manager chooses to have a committee for a classified staff position, then the above committee requirements will need to be followed.
All members of the committee should participate in all interviews and discussions to ensure the process is fair for all applicants. Please make sure you notify the people you have selected to serve on the committee.
|3||Email Request-to-Hire paperwork to Dean's office as a Word document for their approval. The Dean's office will forward to Delois to process. Once the packet is forwarded to HR, HR will forward the Peopleclick tutorial to any committee member who does not have Peopleclick access. They must complete the tutorial before access is given to view resumes.
|4.||HR will enter the requisition into Peopleclick. The requisition will go through the College approval process to be advertised. There is a standard ten days for advertising. During the ten-day period, the hiring manager and the interview committee can start reviewing the applications and moving them into the appropriate “folders” in Peopleclick. Any questions should be directed to Sheila Clemons in HR.|
|5.||The first step in the selection process is convening of the committee to receive the charge. The committee chair will print the standardized interview committee charge form to disseminate to each committee member for his/her signature. The committee chair will collect and forward to Delois along with the Recommendation-to-Hire packet when it’s ready to be submitted.|
|6.||There is a standard set of interview questions to use for faculty positions. The hiring manager and/or committee may add additional questions. For all other positions, please create your own questions. If you need some examples, please contact Delois|
|7.||For internal faculty candidates, the Dean or the hiring manager is required to review the student opinion survey (SOS) results. If the internal faculty member is being recommended, please submit the SOS report(s) along with the Interviewed Applicant Recommendation-to-Hire packet.|
Interviewed Applicant Recommendation-to-Hire Paperwork

|1.||Complete Interviewed Applicant Recommendation-to-Hire form. (Email as a Word document attachment)|
|2.||Complete three reference check forms. One reference must be a supervisor. This is required for internal and external candidates. Committee members can’t be used as a reference. (Scan all three together as one attachment)|

Please forward the above paperwork, in one email but separate attachments, to your Dean for approval. Upon the Dean’s approval, the Dean’s office will forward to Delois.
*** The top candidate's interview with the Dean needs to happen prior to the interview with the VP/Associate VP for Learning & Workforce Development.
|12.||Once Delois receives the Recommendation-to-Hire paperwork and the Associate VP approves it, the packet will be forwarded to HR. If it is a faculty, Director, Division/Executive Director or above position, the Office VPL&WD will contact the Dean’s office to schedule an interview with the candidate, Dean and the VP.
If the position requires a degree, please move forward in requesting the official transcript once the Dean has approved the hire packet. No position, regardless of funding source, will be offered without the VP’s office receiving the official transcript.
Once the hire packet has gone through the approcal process, HR will notify the Dean to offer the position with the approved salary.
If the applicant accepts the position, the hiring manager will notify HR by email the offer, accept and start dates and cc: Delois and the Associate VP. If the candidate declines the salary offer or position, the hiring manager will notify Delois or the Associate VP on how they would like to move forward.
