Orientation - Faculty/Staff

The College recognizes that orientation for new faculty and staff is a cooperative effort by several areas of the College.

New Faculty/Staff Orientation

The Office of Professional Development has the responsibility for the orientation of new faculty/staff. Orientation is split between two parts. The first part is a day-long workshop scheduled the first Tuesday on an alternating monthly schedule. Participants have the opportunity to learn about services of the college that will help them assimilate better to their jobs. New faculty/staff will meet representatives from various College departments and programs while participating in three required training sessions. The second part of New Employee Orientation is a half-day workshop which includes three required training sessions.

For more information, see New Employee Orientations on the Professional Development website.

Additional orientation components are:

  • Monthly new faculty workshops for the first year of employment.
  • Semester-long mentoring with a seasoned faculty member for all full-time faculty.
  • New part-time faculty orientation prior to employment.
