August 7, 2014: Comprehensive Articulation Agreement
The Comprehensive Articulation Agreement between the University of North Carolina and the North Carolina Community College System (NCCCS) has been approved by the Board of Governors of The University of North Carolina and the NCCCS State Board. The Comprehensive Articulation Agreement is available on the NCCCS website.
June 23, 2014: SACS Reaffirmation of Accreditation Update
The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) has reaffirmed the accreditation of Central Piedmont Community College. This 10-year reaffirmation comes after an off-site and on-site review. After the on-site review, SACSCOC made two recommendations concerning the AGE degree and the academic program review. In response to the recommendations, the college terminated the AGE degree and significantly revised the program review process which brought the college into compliance.
Congratulations to the SACS Reaffirmation Team, the QEP team and the entire college community for their efforts in complying with SACSCOC standards and with creating STAR, a quality enhancement plan designed to aid in the success of first-year, full-time curriculum students through enhanced student support and strategic communication.
April 23, 2014: Online Learning
During the past few years, online enrollments at CPCC have grown drastically. We realized that the success rates for students in online classes tend to be lower than those for students in traditional classes. With our emphasis on student success, we felt it imperative that we address this success gap. The eLearning department was asked to develop processes and structures that reflect best practices in online learning with a goal of improving student success.
