What's Happening at AAACE
The AAACE 2008 Conference in Denver was a Tremendous Success!
- Several hundred attended the only Conference that brings together all adult and continuing education practitioners, academicians, and scholars. Over 180 concurrent sessions, three general sessions, and a wide array of exhibitors participated in the six day conference, November 9-14. Conference highlights will be featured as they are prepared.
- Mark your calendar for the 2009 Conference, Nov 3-6, with pre-conferences Nov. 1-2, in Cleveland, Ohio.
AAACE Submits a Report to the U.S. Commission for UNESCO to be a part of the U. S. submission for CONFINTEA VI.
This Spring all the Commissions were asked to contribute to a report on the collective activities of the Association for a report that was prepared by the U.S. Commission for UNESCO for the 6th International Conference on Adult Education (CONFINTEA VI) in May 2009, in Brazil. The National Commission on Adult Literacy Issues Reach Higher, AMERICA: Overcoming Crisis in the U. S. Workforce
Issued June 26th, the report calls for a program on the scale of a “domestic Marshall plan” to effectively serve 20 millions adults needing adult education and workforce skills services. It also calls for resetting the educational mission of postsecondary education and job training to implement these services. Click Here to obtain the report and related materials.
