Faculty Communication Proficiency
The division director will use the following guidelines for screening prospective faculty members to ensure proficiency in oral and written communication in the language in which the course(s) is being taught.
The guidelines include:
Credentials review, including an evaluation of the writing skills as evidenced in the Philosophy of Education statement (located on the back of the CPCC application).
An oral interview with subjective evaluation of language skills.
A language proficiency exam to be administered, on an as needed basis after a conditional offer of employment has been accepted, with resulting evaluation by division director or person assigned to exercise functional supervision.
