Board of Trustees
The Board of Trustees of Central Piedmont Community College is a body corporate established by an act of the North Carolina General Assembly and it possesses all of the powers of a body corporate for the purposes created by or that may exist under provisions of the law. Under the law, the Board shall hold title to all real and personal property donated to the College or purchased with funds provided by the tax-levying authorities. The Board of Trustees has the responsibility for the development and operation of the College in accordance with the provisions of the law and the standards set by the State Board of Community Colleges. The Board consists of twelve members, appointed in three groups of four trustees each and the President of the Student Government Association. They are appointed by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Board of Education, the Board of County Commissioners of Mecklenburg County and by the Governor of North Carolina. The Trustees serve four- year terms. They are divided into four committees: Executive, Finance, Facilities, and Instructional Programs and Institutional Support. The full Board meets every other month.
