TRIO students will get an orientation to college life, improve their basic math skills and start to decide on which career they will pursue.
MAT 060-50 Essential Mathematics M-F 10:30AM-11:20AM Morteza Barshooi
This course is a comprehensive study of mathematical skills which should provide a strong mathematical foundation to pursue further study. Topics include principles and applications of decimals, fractions, percents, ratio and proportion, order of operations, geometry, measurement and elements of algebra and statistics. Upon completion, students should be able to perform basic computations and solve relevant, multi-step mathematical problems using technology where appropriate.
ACA 118-91 College Study Skills T-TH 12:30PM-1:45PM Elvira Johnson
This course covers skills and strategies designed to improve study behaviors. Topics include time management, note taking, test taking, memory techniques, active reading strategies, critical thinking, communication skills, learning styles and other strategies for effective learning. Upon completion, students should be able to apply appropriate study strategies and techniques to the development of an effective study plan.
