iLrn Requirement

NOTE: GER 111 is considered the CLASS. GER 181 is considered the LAB.

  1. All exercises in ALL 2 of the manuals (Textbook activities, eSam) of iLrn MUST be completed.
  2. A minimum score PER ACTIVITY of 70% for GER 181 must be achieved. The iLrn assignments make 90% of the lab grade. There are also 15 attendance quizzes on blackboard that must be taken in order to be counted attending the class. These quizzes count as 10% of the lab grade.
  3. All activities in all 2 manuals must be completed by the weekend before the final exams.Each late submission needs to be approved by the instructor. For extensions a written documentation is required. Valid excuses include hospitalization, automobile accident, court appearance, death of a close relative or other serious mishap.Documentation must be presented to the instructor as an email attachment or in person no later than 14 days after each deadline (final deadline excluded).
  1. Students must be sure to type their answers for iLrn starting at the very beginning of a box – no empty spaces. Also only one space between words.  Otherwise, iLrn will count answers as incorrect.
  2. Umlauts MUST be used for the answer to be counted as correct
  3. The last day for submitting lab activities for each semester is the weekend before the Final.
  4. Students completing all iLrn activities with the minimum score will receive the percentage as a grade for GER 181 lab.
  5. It is each student's responsibility to make himself/herself familiar with the software. It is also the student's responsibility to check his/her progress regularly with the results button.
  6. Students not completing all iLrn activities with the minimum score will receive an F in the lab portion (GER 181). The F will become part of the student’s permanent record and will affect the GPA. Also, students WILL NOT be allowed to enroll in the next level of German. However, students may re-take GER181 re-doing all of iLrn.
