1. Review carefully this "Study French in Montreal" website. 

2. Submit application/registration form with fee ($100) 
Make check payable to: CPCC Study Abroad. See payment schedule link.
Confirm that you are accepted into the program.

3. Submit first deposit. See payment schedule link. Make check payable to: CPCC Study Abroad. To pay by credit card, go the CPCC Cashier's office.  Be sure to ask cashier to scan receipt to Donna Apgar with your name and Montreal written on it!
Make sure cashier has our correct study abroad account number!
4. Get your passport photos. 2" x 2", full face, identical. Various places will do these such as Kinkos, Biggs Camera on Kings, AAA, CVS (cheapest) or the Main Post Office on McDowell St. when getting passport. 
5.Obtain your passport. Need 2 passport photos, birth certificate, drivers license, SS card. The Main Post Office downtown on McDowell St. will process for you. It may take two months and longer if wait till Spring.  (Can do a RUSH for extra $$$) ( 
7. Consider getting additional insurance.   Your downpayment covers certain insurance coverage abroad.   You may want more.

8. Make deposits payable to CPCC Study Abroad according to payment schedule. 
10. CPCC registration in early May (deadline end May).
You will select FRE111-60, FRE112-60, FRE211-60, FRE212-60 with accompanying Lab section. and/or FRE161-01.  You may audit or take for academic credit (up to 7 credits)
11. Register your trip with the State Department on-line.
If USA needs to contact you or you lose your passport or whatever, the embassy can retrieve your info via this State Department Website. Read the information and then click on the “short trip” option and fill in the form. Be sure to do this when you have all of your information ready. Everyone must register their trip at this website so that any problems can be more easily solved.
12. Check State Department Website for Travel Warnings.
13. Check Center for Disease Control Website for advisory. 
14. Check responsible practices in Student Study Abroad Handbook website. 
14. Prepare for Montreal Lab activities :  Work through this lab activity checklist (link is to your left) , watching dvds, videos and working with Language Lab software to be better prepared for the adventure!  Print it out and take with you to the Lab. 
15. Sign waiver forms in April at our group meeting. 
16. Attend "getting ready" and "getting acquainted" session before we go.
