How to Connect to the CPCC wireless network

Android Devices:

  1. Go to "Settings".
  2. Select the "CPCC" network, NOT the CPCC Guest network.
  3. Enter your username. Students should use: lab\username or username@lab.cpcc.edu. Faculty/Staff should use: cpcc\username or username@cpcc.edu.
  4. Enter your password and click "OK".
  5. Click Connect.

 



Windows 7:

  1. Click on the wireless icon in the lower right-hand corner of the start bar Windows Wifi Icon Location.
  2. Select the "CPCC" network, NOT the CPCC Guest network.
  3. Enter your username. Students should use: lab\username or username@lab.cpcc.edu. Faculty/Staff should use: cpcc\username or username@cpcc.edu.
  4. Enter your password and click "OK".
  5. A Windows security box will display. Make sure that you select "Connect".
  6. To verify that you are connected, click on the wireless icon, "Connected" should display next to the CPCC Wireless Network Connection

 



Windows 8:

  1. Select the "Desktop"tile from your start screen
  2. Click on the wireless icon in the lower right-hand corner of the start bar Windows Wifi Icon Location
  3. Select the "CPCC" network, NOT the CPCC Guest network.
  4. Enter your username. Students should use: lab\username or username@lab.cpcc.edu. Faculty/Staff should use: cpcc\username or username@cpcc.edu.
  5. Enter your password and click "OK".
  6. A Windows security box will display. Make sure that you select "Connect".
  7. To verify that you are connected, click on the wireless icon, "Connected" should display next to the CPCC Wireless Network Connection

 



iPhone and iPad:

  1. Click on the "Settings" app.
  2. Select the "WiFi" option from the menu on the left.
  3. Select the "CPCC" network, NOT the CPCC Guest network.
  4. Enter your username. Students should use: lab\username or username@lab.cpcc.edu. Faculty/Staff should use: cpcc\username or username@cpcc.edu.
  5. Enter your password and click "Join".
  6. When the network connection is made, a blue check mark will appear next to the "CPCC" network.

 



OSX:

  1. Click on the wireless icon in the upper right-hand side of the Apple bar OSX Wifi Icon Location.
  2. Select the "CPCC" network, NOT the CPCC Guest network.
  3. Enter your username. Students should use: lab\username or username@lab.cpcc.edu. Faculty/Staff should use: cpcc\username or username@cpcc.edu.
  4. Enter your password and click "Join".
  5. You will be prompted to accept a security certificate, click "Accept".
  6. If you are an administrator on your device you may be prompted to enter your password to change the certificate settings. Enter your password and click "Update Settings".
  7. To verify that you are connected, click on the wireless icon, a blue checkbox will display next to the CPCC Wireless Network Connection.

 



Chromebook:

  1. Power on your Chromebook; if you are using it for the first time, you will be prompted to get connected to the internet.
  2. Select a network; when you click the drop down menu it will display the available SSID
    • If you are student or employee, please use the “CPCC” SSID and NOT the CPCC Guest network
    • If you are new student or guest to the college, please use the “CPCCguest” network
  3. Once the SSID is selected, “Join to the Wi-Fi network” window pops up. On this menu:
    • For the EAP method: Select “PEAP” from the drop down box
    • Make sure both the Phase2 Authentication is selected for “Automatic” and Server CA Certification is set to “Default”

  4. Navigate to identity to enter your username. Students should use: lab\username or username@lab.cpcc.edu. Faculty/Staff should use: cpcc\username or username@cpcc.edu and then click on “Connect
  5. Verify your network Icon status bar is showing connected on the bottom right corner of your screen or click on the Network Icon to see display that says: “Connected to CPCC” or "Connected to CPCCguest”
