Welcome to the Student Technology Center Virtual Lab

The online Student Technology Center (STC) Virtual Lab provides students access to their normal computer related student resources from anywhere on all popular platforms, at any time. The STC Virtual Lab service is available to students during, as well as after normal business hours.

Within this environment, on each student's virtual desktop, there is an online Chat icon, which provides help through a CHAT feature. This feature is to assist students with basic questions about how to perform a task within any of the Microsoft products ( Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and to help answer basic questions about an assignment, unless it is a test or quiz.

Although the Virtual Lab is available after normal business hours, the Virtual CHAT will NOT be available on these days:

MLK Day, Spring break, Easter Holiday, Memorial Day, 4th of July break, Thanksgiving Holiday and winter break. Please refer to the CPCC website for additional Virtual CHAT closing dates.

Chat Support & Remote Assistance

A member of our support team will interact with you in a chat session and ask some questions to determine the nature of your problem. If you contact us outside of our hours of operation for chat, you may choose to leave a message with our support staff. All messages will be responded to within (2) hours during normal business hours.

 

How It Works:

  • Step 1: Click on the Live Chat button shown below.
  • Step 2: You will then be prompted to download a small virus-free plug-in.
  • Step 3: With your permission, your support representative can view your screen and share control of your mouse and keyboard.
  • Step 4: You are in full control of your computer at all times. You always have overriding control of your mouse and keyboard, and you can end the screen-sharing session at any time.
