Aastra Phone with Lync
How to...

Sign In To Initially Activate Phone
- Click the UC logo on the bottom task bar of your computer screen
- On the phone, select Yes when prompted to sign in via PC USB connection
- A pop-up window will appear on your computer screen
- Enter the following information:
- Sign-in address (your CPCC e-mail address)
- Domain and username (cpcc.edu\username)
- Password
- Click Sign In
Your computer will now be linked to the phone. The phone will lock and unlock when signing on to or off of the computer
Reset Phone if Signed In by Previous User
- Unplug the LAN side patch cable to power down the phone
- Plug patch cable back in to power up the phone
- Press and hold both * and # keys until prompted to reset user data on the phone
- Select Yes and allow the phone to reset
- Follow sign-in procedure when phone reset is complete
Receive a Call
From your phone:
- Lift handset to answer a call through the receiver
- Press Answer (left soft key) to activate speakerphone or headset
- Press To Voice Mail (right soft key) to send the call directly to voice mail
From your computer:
In the pop-up Lync window at the bottom of the screen:
- Click the green handset receiver icon to accept the call hands free
- Click Decline or Redirect drop arrow for redirect options
Make a Call
Dialing number or extension on keypad:
- CPCC internal calls: dial only 4-digit extension
- Local external calls: do not dial 9 for outside line
- Long distance calls: do not dial 1 for long distance line
Calling by name search on keypad:
- Press number keys to spell part of the first or last name of desired contact (ex., press 8669*7 for T-O-N-Y S)
- Press up/down scroll arrows to select preferred name on screen
- Press Call (right soft key)
Call from Lync window on your computer:
- Click the UC Logo on the bottom task bar of your computer screen and Open the Lync window
- Key at least two letters of the first or last name in the search bar to find a contact, OR Click expand arrow on a contact group to see group members
- Move cursor to preferred contact and click the Call button that appears
Transfer a Call
Calls may be transferred to:
- Another extension
- A mobile phone
- Parking lot
Transfer to another extension:
*Speak to caller to determine best transfer
- Press the Menu button (middle soft key)
- Press up/down scroll arrows to:
- Announce the transfer (standard)
- Select Consult then Transfer To
- When the contact accepts the call, select Complete Transfer
- Press OK
- Transfer directly to contact
- Enter number or scroll to select contact
- Press Call (right soft key)
Transfer to mobile phone from your computer
Note: Mobile phone numbers receiving transfers must be added to Lync options on your computer piror to transfers:
- Click the UC logo on the bottom task bar of the computer screen and Open the Lync window
- Click the round gear icon to the right of your name to open the Options window
- Click Phones in the Options window
- Click the Mobile Phone button and enter the number
- Click OK
Check Voice Mail
Press and hold the 1 key to access voice mail
To hear a specific message:
- Press the up/down scroll arrows to select the Voice Mail icon on your phone screen and press OK to see messages
- Scroll to select the message you wish to hear and press OK
- OR press Menu (middle soft key) and scroll to select Call Voice Mail and press OK
- Say "voice mail" when prompted and follow audio instructions
Record or Change Voice Mail Greeting
- Press up/down scroll arrows to select the Voice Mail icon on phone screen and press OK
- Scroll to select Call Voice Mail and press OK
- Say "personal options" when prompted, and follow audio instructions

How to...
Sign In to Initially Activate Phone
- Click UC logo on the bottom task bar of your computer screen
- On the phone touch screen, press Sign-In Via PC
- A pop-up window will appear on your computer screen
- Enter the following information:
- Sign-in address (your CPCC e-mail address)
- Username (cpcc.edu\username)
- Password
- Click Sign In
Reset Phone if Signed In by Previous User
- Find the reset button on the back of your phone to the left of the headset jack
- Depress the reset button using a paperclip and Hold until the phone reboots
- Follow sign in procedure after the phone resets
Receive a Call
From your phone:
- Lift the handset to answer a call through the receiver

- Press To Voice Mail on the phone touch screen to send the call directly to voice mail
From your computer:

- Select Consult then Transfer To
- When the contact accepts the call, select Complete Transfer
- Press OK
- Transfer directly to contact:
- Press Transfer Directly
- Enter the number or scroll to select contact
- Press the button in the center of the scroll wheel
Transfer to mobile phone from your computer
