English as a Second Language
Adult ESL (LEP:Limited English Proficiency) is part of the Adult Basic Education department. The program seeks to serve internationals in the community who desire to learn English. The curriculum is flexible and reflects the needs of the students. Students can study in regularly scheduled classes, self-access language labs and in a distance learning setting. Programs are held on CPCC campuses, community-based organizations and the workplace.
The program consists of various levels ranging from literacy - for those who do not read and write in their native language, to where students can prepare to enter Adult High School, the GED program, or curriculum classes. Each class offers integrated skill practice based on the needs and goals of the students.
