Visiting or Non-Degree Seeking Students

VISITING STUDENTS ARE THOSE WHO ARE CURRENTLY ENROLLED AS DEGREE-SEEKING STUDENTS AT ANOTHER INSTITUTION BUT WHO WISH TO TAKE COURSES FOR ONE TERM AT CENTRAL PIEDMONT COMMUNITY COLLEGE. YOU ARE A VISITING STUDENT IF YOU MEET ANY OF THE BELOW CRITERIA:

 

1. Students who are taking courses to transfer to their home institution

2. Students who do not need course advisement as they are taking courses as a non-degree seeking student

3. Students who are taking courses to fulfill requirements for another instituion

Steps to receive online assistance

The Application: (if you have already completed this, skip this step)

Follow steps 1-4. If you wish to be a visiting student for one or more terms, you do not need to submit an application for every term. An application for one term is also good for future terms. Visiting students are not required to submit transient study forms. You only need to complete the application.

Transcripts:

Transcripts are not required unless you want to take a course that requires a prerequisite. In that case, you will need to check that you meet the prerequisite (click here) and supply advising with an unofficial copy of your transcript following documentation guidelines (click here for documentation guidelines) to show that you meet prerequisite(s) for the course(s) you are attempting to take.

Note: If you are not using a college transcript, please view here on other ways to waive the placement test to take CPCC courses that require only developmental courses to be completed/waived.

If you have already sent in official transcripts, please add to your email: "Official transcripts already sent and received" (Note: you will know they have been received when you receive an email in your student email account regarding the receipt of your transcripts)

Email Online Advisor with CPCC Courses

To receive an override to register for an available section of the CPCC course(s) you wish to take, please provide only the CPCC course(s) (Ex: ENG 111) you are attempting to register for. Please use your CPCC email account and include all of the below information requested to avoid any delays in sending and receiving communication. Your email to the Online Advisor (ican@cpcc.edu) should include:

1. Subject Line: VISITING STUDENT

  1. How to register
  2. When to register
  3. Information on Books, Paying for Courses, Parking Decal, Student ID and more.
  4. Please make sure to thoroughly and carefully read the form you receive for all the information you need, including contact information for appropriate areas
