Position Description

Reporting to the Vice President of Finance and Administrative Services with additional accountability and responsibility to the President, the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) is responsible for developing and executing a human resource strategy in support of the College’s Mission, Vision and Strategic Direction, specifically in the areas of talent management, acquisition and retention; change management, organizational and performance management, training and development, and compensation. The CHRO will provide strategic leadership by articulating HR needs and plans to the President, Cabinet, and College Leadership team and will serve as a key strategic partner in leading change management in this dynamic institution. Working with the President and College Leadership, he/she will help cultivate, build, and maintain a culture of accountability, transparency, and one focused on valuing people.

The ideal candidate will passionately and enthusiastically advance the vision and mission of the College. This innovative, human capital strategist and entrepreneurial leader will be comfortable using change to advance the College. With successful HR business partner experience, this well-rounded collaborative HR generalist will have the ability to attract, develop, and retain talent; establish workplace systems and procedures; manage legal, regulatory, and compliance issues; and remain flexible and nimble in a fast-paced changing environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required along with the ability to demonstrate sensitivity and appreciation for the needs of a culturally diverse staff and student body. A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or closely related discipline from is required; a Master’s degree is strongly preferred.
